James (Jim) O'Donnell was appointed to lead Citi Global Wealth upon its creation in January 2021. In this role, he oversees the Private Bank and the other parts of Citi’s Consumer Wealth organization. Previously, he was Global Head of Investor Sales and Relationship Management within Citi’s Markets and Securities Services Division. He joined Citi in July 1999 as Head of European Equities, becoming Head of US Equities in 2004.
Prior to Citi, Jim was President and CEO of HSBC Securities in New York and CEO of HSBC James Capel, HSBC's Global Equity business. Before that, he was President and CEO of NatWest Securities in the US. He held various roles at Drexel Burnham Lambert from 1986 to 1990, including Head of Sales and Trading for International Equities and Co-Head of Global Equity Trading.
Jim holds bachelor's degree in comparative religion from Princeton University.
