Chris has overall responsibility for our private banking activities in offices throughout the US and Canada. He is also a member of Citi Global Wealth’s Leadership Team.
Before joining Citi in 2025, Chris spent 13 years at Bank of America Private Bank, most recently serving as the Northeast Division Executive. Before that, he held management positions in private banking for Neuberger Berman and Lehman Brothers in San Francisco. Earlier in his career, he played professional ice hockey.
Chris holds a bachelor’s from Harvard University and a professional doctorate from Suffolk University Law School.
Kristen Bitterly Michell

Kristen Bitterly Michell is a Managing Director at Citi, serving as the Head of Citi Private Bank Latin America and the Head of Citi Global Wealth at Work. In this dual leadership capacity, Kristen oversees two core businesses within Citi Wealth, driving strategic alignment, expanding client reach in international markets and industry sectors, and delivering comprehensive wealth management strategies to ultra-high-net-worth individuals and institutional professionals.
For Citi Private Bank Latin America, Kristen leads the regional wealth strategy, providing tailored guidance and bespoke services to clients and their families throughout the region. Concurrently, for Wealth at Work, she directs a dedicated business delivering wealth planning, banking, and investment capabilities to professionals across the legal, asset management, and professional services sectors, as well as to pre-IPO and post-IPO companies and Citi employees via Citi Wealth Ascend.
Prior to her current roles, Kristen served as the Head of Investment Solutions for Citi Global Wealth, overseeing the end-to-end investment offering —encompassing product development, investment performance, platform architecture, innovation, and global sales across all client segments.
With nearly 25 years of financial services experience, Kristen has held senior leadership positions at Citi, Credit Suisse, and J.P. Morgan. A fluent Spanish speaker, she has deep expertise in global client coverage and international capital markets. She is a frequent commentator in the media and a keynote speaker at major global industry forums, presenting in both English and Spanish.
Kristen graduated summa cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Spanish Language and Literature. She earned her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. She holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 31, 63, and 65 securities licenses.
Steven Lo

Based in Hong Kong, Steven has overall responsibility for serving the needs of our clients across JANA (Japan, Asia North and Australia) & Asia South. He has more than 30 years of experience in wealth management, having joined Citi in 1991. He is a member of the Private Bank’s Global Leadership Team.
Steven was previously Co-Head of Citi Global Wealth Asia and Head of Citi Private Bank for Asia Pacific. His prior roles include Global Market Manager for Hong Kong, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Steven holds a bachelor’s in social administration from Loughborough University and an MBA from Warwick University.
James Holder

James has overall responsibility for addressing the needs of clients across UK, Europe & the Middle East.
Previously, he was the Global Head of Citi Private Bank's Family Office Group, and prior to that the Global Market Manager for Northern Europe.
Before joining Citi from Barclays in 2005, James was the founding partner and finance director of a digital television start-up venture. Earlier in his career, James worked in mergers & acquisitions transactions at Samuel Montagu, and subsequently for James Capel. He originally trained as a chartered accountant within Coopers & Lybrand’s corporate finance practice
James graduated from Manchester University with a bachelor’s in economics and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
