The Private Bank gives thanks to our clients and Citi partners after winning two of our industry’s top awards.
Citi Private Bank is honored to have been named Best Global Private Bank and Best Private Bank for Customer Service. The awards were announced at the Global Private Banking Awards 2018, which are organized by PWM (Private Wealth Management) and The Banker, two highly regarded publications owned by the Financial Times. Around 130 banks competed for the awards this year, with a strong field of US and European institutions seeking the coveted global title.
The panel of fifteen judges cited a number reasons for naming us as Best Global Private Bank. These included our ‘resilience and growth following the Global Financial Crisis, after which so many competitors struggled for a long period of time.’ They also highlighted levels of net new inflows of client funds in 2017, as well as the Private Bank’s position within Citi’s Institutional Clients Group, which is appealing to wealthy and sophisticated clients.
"When you look at the handful of top institutions which can provide services to the wealthiest global families, Citi is always at the races," said Yuri Bender, editor-in-chief of PWM and also a judge for the awards. "There are not many banks who can get the formula right, providing top tier private banking combined with investment and corporate banking expertise. Citi is one of the few who can do this. They have managed to recruit well and to develop expertise in alternative investments and real estate, sectors which matter a great deal to wealthy families. Moreover, this expertise is spread across offices in the US, Europe and Asia, enabling them to be close to the locations where clients are running their businesses."
